My Story

Chomp aka Mr Chomper aka The Most Beautiful Man.

Chomp came into our lives on the 16 January 2004 he had been cast aside as a young male, the previous years Christmas present that had reached its use by date thee was still a collar mark.  When we found him he panicked and bit me on the thumb sinking his teeth to the bone. It was off home to clean my wounds as we walked home a ginger and white flash raced ast us and down our driveway. It was truly love at first bite. Alison and i had been chosen. It was determined by our vet that "Chomp" was a little over a year old.

Chomp settled into our household lording it over Sammy our labrador, Foofa and Brat our two ladies (Cats). He took over runing the show and developed into a lovable affectionate boy, he never bit again. He was loved by many.

He loved his cuddles and company and would seek out people, he was always there, loved by many he was also bold and brave and took on the odd dog or two but was not a fighter. when we moved after some time we found a compantion another waif from death row "Snippet" he loved her and would groom her and me too if he got the chance he was her protector.

In his giving gentle nature he allowed in Stanley Stray Cat, Harlequin another  stray (poisoned by a neighbour) and Stanleys friend  and her kitten Tortiepie and Ginge he would groom the kittens he  just took it all in.

As he matured he became a little slower, slept more and sought out our company more often he was always in the business with me and at night would sleep in my armpit or wrap himself around my head. He was simply the business.

On the evening of the 10th November 2010 he wanted to go out alison and i went for a walk on our return I spied a bundle on a neighbours step i went to see what it was and realised it was my beautiful man "Chomp" he had been callously rundown and left on their doorstep. I was bereft inconsolable. We rushed him to our vet, there was nothing tht could be done and his life ebbed from him in Alisons arms.

The follwing day 11th November 2010 (Remberance Day) we went to see him one last time our vet had reset his jaw, closed his eyes and cleaned his wounds. He was wrapped in a towel with an orange rosebud placed upon him. I held him one last time, wept and kissed him goodbye. We know who killed him and why.

Chomp was simply the best he was the "one in a milion" that you are blessed with, he was my confidante, my rock, my companion,  business partner and muse.

He was and will always remain : The Most Beautiful Man"  I have no faith in god or the afterlife but I know he will be waiting with Sammy, Foofa, Brat, Jody, Matilda and Blinky  at the Rainbow Bridge for me.

RIP Chompy . Dad (Adrian)
