My Story

I met Pete while volunteering at Sydney dogs and cats home. On his card it said "Pete is a sweetie" which he was. I adopted him on 29th Dec 2006.  Pete was an older dog, about 10 and had a bad heart so was put on medication straight away, he was also blind in one eye.  The day I bought him home I was so proud. He was my faithful friend, my beautiful boy and followed me everywhere.  We used to go on long walks which he loved.  By early 2009 Pete had slowed down a lot and had a very bad pancreatic attack one night.  I thought I was going to loose him then but he got over it.  His next hurdle was a tumour in his back leg.  He got over that operation and his leg eventually healed.  My poor boy was starting to look very old and then had another pancreatic attack, he went into the vet hospital and blood tests showed he had kidney disease too.  He wasn't happy in there and came home but was giving up, he was no longer eating and I had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go.  He was the best dog I ever had and I miss him so much, Pete will be forever in my heart
