Titan came to us by accident. The way this happened is quite extraordinary. We had a rottweiler, Diamond and a white boxer, Crystal. Crystal died of kidney disease at 3 years old. We were looking for another dog and studied the possible breeds. My family decided a great dane would be a good match and searched the papers, flyers and internet for a breeder. None was to be found. After months of searching we looked for a boxer, knowing the quality of the breed. We picked up our new boxer pup, Thor from Dorchester. When we took him for one of his first vet visits low and behold there was a harlequin great dane puppy the same age looking for a home. My brother bought him, and our home was blessed with two new additions to the family.
Titan and I went into Boston over the summer. I planned out the whole day. We left to board the commuter rail around 9am. I parked at a park down the street. We walked around the block for about a half hour, I knew a walk would relieve a little bit of his tension. We boarded the train without a problem. Ty behaved magnificently. I was so proud of him. The condutor was very young, maybe his late 30's at the oldest and he said his children would love to meet Ty and that they would be so breathless seeing this dog. I conversed with him for the majority of the train ride. Ty laid patiently at my feet. When we got off the train we walked over to the park. I can say without a doubt Titan loved EVERY minute of that walk around Boston's park. So many people were shocked to see him and he obliged them a pat or two, but he was never to siked about anyone beside our family. The day was hot and I ended our date early due to the heat. We walked back to South Station and relaxed inside while we waited for our train. While we sat a musician in a very nice tuxedo noticed Ty and took several pictures with him. (Never found out if he got in the paper or not : / ) When we got home at the end of the day, Ty still wore his face of anticipation for another walk : )
